What does it mean to be a woman?
Mar 06, 2024Today, I had the privilege of leading a women's circle, a gathering of about 20 incredible souls, where we delved into deep discussions about what it means to be a woman on Earth and I led an energy clearing.
I was inspired to make the theme specifically focused around “What does it mean to be a woman in the world right now?” as we approach March 8th, International Women's Day. There is a rich history and significance behind this global celebration. International Women's Day has its roots in the early 20th century, emerging from the labor and women's rights movements in North America and Europe.
The first National Women's Day was observed in the United States on February 28, 1909, in honor of the 1908 garment workers' strike in New York, where women protested against unfair working conditions. Inspired by this event, socialist groups and organizations began advocating for an annual day to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women and push for gender equality.
In 1910, during the International Conference of Working Women held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Clara Zetkin, a prominent German socialist, proposed the idea of an International Women's Day. Her proposal was met with overwhelming support, and the following year, on March 19, 1911, the first International Women's Day was celebrated in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.
Since then, International Women's Day has grown into a global movement, serving as a platform to raise awareness about women's rights, gender equality, and the empowerment of women worldwide. Each year, people around the globe come together to honor the achievements of women and highlight the ongoing struggles they face in their fight for equality and justice.
Our theme in the women's circle today we found ourselves reflecting on the significance of this day and the unique experiences of women around the world. We pondered questions about the challenges and burdens that come with womanhood, acknowledging the dense layers of societal expectations, responsibilities and outdated belief systems that many of us carry.
It's a reality that some women, like my former partner, tragically find themselves consumed by darkness, feeling trapped and unable to break free.
The news last week of her passing through suicide shook me deeply, serving as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing mental health and reaching out for support when needed. Suicide is never the answer. It only perpetuates the cycle of pain and karma, leaving behind a trail of unresolved issues. Suicide doesn´t resolve the darkness that was being experienced. When the soul leaves, it's still required to face that darkness, find the wisdom and integrate it so that it can be let go.
This Women's Day, as we celebrate the strength and resilience of women, let us also recognize the struggles many face behind closed doors. Women have historically navigated through unique challenges, often bearing the weight of immense responsibilities, loneliness and societal pressures.
But amidst the struggles, there is hope. There´s always hope. Through energy clearing and daily spiritual practices, we can release the dense energies that hold us back, finding liberation and wisdom in the darkness.
Today, in the women's circle, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of clearing away the burdens we carry and how powerful it can be to use words of compassion to dissolve the perceived darkness. It's easier than we think and at the end of the session we had moved from heavy feelings of guilt, shame, anger and too much responsibility to feelings of empowerment, liberation and joy.
It's crucial to remember that asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a courageous step towards healing. You are never alone in your journey. Reach out, seek support, and know that there are compassionate souls ready to lend a listening ear and a helping hand. I am one of them so if you need it, please reach out.
As we honor Women's Day this Friday, let's celebrate the resilience, strength, and beauty of women everywhere. Let's stand together in solidarity, offering support and love to those who need it most. And let's commit to clearing the density within ourselves and within our communities, paving the way for a brighter, more empowered future for all.
Sending love vibes to each and every one of you and Happy Women's Day to any of those celebrating.
